Step bars installed

Hey all, I haven't been on a lot in the last month so I thought I give an update as to what I've been doing to the ranger. I ve got 2 projects on the go. Painting some rims which I am still working on, And some step bars, which is now complete.

I purchased the bars used from SniperX103 (Matt). They were badly rusted and had a broken bolt in one step. I drilled out the broken bolt and retapped it. I then stripped all the loose rust and powdercoat, next I primed them with Tremclad Rustreformer. I then gave the stepbars 4 coats of spray-on bedliner, as a final touch I repainted the plastic step pad with the left over paint from my grille. Heres the results.

If you are wondering that is a bit of antiseize on the bar that I forgot to wipe off.

Whats with the front Ford emblem in your grille? Is it missing or did you do something different?

Those bars turned out looking pretty good. I had a set of aftermarket bars on my truck similar to those but they stuck out way to far and looked terrible. So i replaced them with factory 06+ bars. Then I was talking to my buddy about step bars and we decided to see if we could make them fit his ZR2. We had to modify the brackets, and he wanted to chop the bars so they didn't stick out so far. Now they look sweet on his truck and I kind of want them back.

Black Rustless Step Bars = FTW.

It s a sticker from Ford Emblem Stickers Decals Chevy Bowtie Vinyl Lettering Signs A-Boards Window Signs Graphics Its a decepticon logo on brushed aluminum. I wanted to try something different and it looks ok for now.
