Strange Question

I just bought my 3rd ranger and have a strange question to ask you all.
My truck is a 1995 Ranger XL ( I think) with the 4 banger 5-speed. But what is strange is it's got NO power steering. From what I can tell, came from the factory that way. Anyone else heard or seen this combo before?

strange that it doesn't, that would really suck.

My '94 Mazda 2300 has no power steering also. Would like to convert, but haven't put forth the effort yet. Probably would have to get the pump and steering box from a junk yard.

Thats What I thought 5speedin2.3. Its got the bolt holes on the block, but no power rack or pump.
I fixed the steering difficulty by going to a smaller narrower tire on the front. Only need to muscle it when I try to pull into a parking spot.

is there holes that have been blocked off in the power steering pump? also, does the belt routing diagram show a power steering pump?

personally id dish out the extra cash for it. IMO if its a daily driver and doesn't have it, add it

Well I don't have to worry about it now. Stupid ice. Slid off the road and into a ditch. Broke the freakin' frame. Sent it to the junk yard. Not to upset over it. Only paid 200 for the truck when I got it. Junk yard paid me 150 for junk. Not bad at all. Still got my other 2 cars(2002 Dodge and 94 Pontiac) to drive.

My 88' Ranger 4 banger 2.3L 5 speed manual is a no-power steering beast.. but to be honest, you dont notice it when youve been driving for a long while.. buidls up some muscles I actually had to do one of those famous 20-point turn sout in the woods one day to turn around on some narrow spot with a cliff on one side, and a deep rut on teh otehr side, now THAT is practice of repetative motions
