Stuff off my Explorer and Ranger
 

I need to part out the 2.5L motor, accessories, and wiring from my Ranger.

I also need to part out the entire Explorer interior and various other parts.

It's a Generation 4 1998-2001. However, a lot of parts are still used on current models.
The interior pieces are gray.

Interior:

• Auto Dim rear-view mirror
• Door switches and trim panels (gray) for power windows and locks
• Power mirror adjustment switch
• Center console without the lid, with rear radio and air. Also with digital readout that displays oil status, fuel economy, and other system information
• Rear seat radio controls for center console
• Radio bezel with rear wiper, fog lights, and defrost switches
• Rear hatch area dome light (small rectangle)
• Rear seat dome light with map lights
• Any piece of the air conditioning system
• Steering wheel cowl (covers top of 98-current Ranger wheels, where the emergency light switch is.)
• Head light switch, dimmer switch, and all of the other switches on the dash.
• Glove box assembly

Exterior

• Hood Latch assembly with cable and pull-lever.
• Passenger's side power mirror with courtesy lights
• Auto up/down radio antenna with mount bracket, wiring, and trim pieces for exterior.
• Passenger's side power mirror with courtesy lights
• Any piece of the ABS system
• Any piece of the cruise control system

What year Explorer, Tim?

Is the motor blown? For the right price I might want the motor, tranny, radiator, and all the wiring and computers. Everything for a motor swap.

Which one? The 5.0 is going into my truck. The 2.5 blew a rod bearing and possibly has a cracked or warped block.
The tranny was rebuilt 20,000 miles ago.

cruise control pieces you say? i need the steering wheel buttons if they are the same as the one on a ranger.

Does the explorer have the lighted sun visors with the mirrors, if so would you sell them?

It has lighted sunvisors with the second visor that flips down when your visor is to the side.

I'm pretty sure the steering wheel buttons are different. It's got buttons on one side for the cruise control and the other side for the EATC.

I do believe that this dome light is different from the ones that fit the roof of the Ranger. I'll take a picture of it shortly and compare.

Yes it does, it has two sensors:
One to detect light coming from the rear to signal the dimming action
and one to detect light from above, to turn the headlights on or off appropriately.

explorer/mountaineer dome lights will fit a ranger..

Oh ok the 2.5 is what I was talking about, but I don't want it anymore, lol.

I want the EATC if possible. Is it the blue display or green?

Today I removed a few more parts from the Explorer:

The "head unit" to the EATC is gone already. I am parting out the stuff behind the dashboard, though.

I'm trying to get as much of this stuff gone this week as I can. So please help me out if you have any interest in these pieces.

Yes, but it's going into my truck painted solid black unless you can make a reasonable offer to get it out of my hands! It's the kind for the sun-roof, so I'll be running lots of wires to it to wire up switches for my n2o and neon systems.

are you sure it had the EATC then :shrug: because without the headunit unless you pull out everything else, it looks not any different....

got any pictures of the seats? what kind are they?

Here's how I know it had EATC:

• Rear seat radio and air controls on the center console
• inside air temperature sensor mounted in the small vent between the passenger's airbag and the radio
• control's on the steering wheel for air temperature, Mode, and fan speed.

The driver's seat is gone, but the passenger's seat is gray leather with Mountaineer in the headrest. It's a full option leather seat, with power adjustments.
