stupid rattle!!

My truck has this incredibly annoying and embarrassing rattle at low rpms (1500-1900rpm) usually around 30-50kmh.

Sounds like it's one of the heat shields or skidplates, or might even be caused by the flange connection between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust near the transfer case.

Anyone else ever have this? I'm thinking of pulling all the heat shields and skidplates off and putting them back on one at a time to figure out where the rattle is coming from. Sounds like its coming from near the front, so could be the exhaust flange with the springs, or just a loose heat shield. It's so annoying.

Get the biggest hose clamp you can find. Wrap it around the cat and tighten it down. Instant rattle fix.

Turns out it's the heat shield on my muffler.

So on Thursday I'm getting a nice Flowmaster 40 series to replace it. w00t!
