This has been something that I have been thinking about doing on my 4.0 is supercharging it. Anyone with experience in it, is it worth it? Does the motor hold up good? Let me know how hard it is to do as well.

I agree with mark. under 6psi with everything else stock.
I dont really like the intake on the RPcaster kit, dont get me wrong got to start somewhere but seems like it would kill air flow. (I have held one in my hand btw)

Yeah I was going to build a tougher trans or swap, and I was going to build the motor with like better pistons, and some forged pieces. I was also going to put in a limited slip so I could actually have traction too.
Which intake did you hold? Was it the old style or new style? I purchased my kit about 2 months ago and ron said that the new box style increases airflow. The install isn't bad , about 8-10 hrs and a 12 pk. o PBR lol... I have over 3k on my install with 4.5lbs of boost and she runs like a champ. For the price of the kit and the increase in performance I highly recommend this kit!!
I held the black box back in March of this year, its a good design dont get me wrong and it works, but ive never seen a box like design before, seems like the air is just going to compress in there and not flow as well as it could.
i mean it does it job, i just think it could be better. but no matter how you slice it 6psi is pretty much the max for a stock engine to keep it running a long time.
I dont mean any of this as bashing against RPCaster and his kit, he put a ton of time and effort into it and its a great kit for the money compared to whats out there, which is basically it and the EE kit.
maybe its just the look of it, and i really shouldnt be basing it off looks.

I agree with you, And I didn't think you were bashing it at all, I was just curious cause I thought the same thing about the intake. I also agree about the 6 psi.

When I first researched this product I saw the older version of ron's intake and it looked just like that one, which I preferred over the box style. So I e-mailed him and asked,
"2. In the pictures on ebay I see two different intakes. One with round

The new design box style allows better air flow and the ability to add an intercooler, within it. The intercooler is still in the design stage and not needed until boost pressure exceeds 6lbs. yeah if your 2wd... i dont think the options are that great for a 4wd.
an AOD isnt that good of a trans from what i have read. maybe a c4 or c6.
the newer 4r70w (?) isnt even that good from what i have read. idk maybe its just like people saying the 5r55e is junk too(which i dont really think its that bad)

4r70w is a decent trans.
My Dads F150 has the 4r70w and it is getting built for his 500HP lightning motor which is going to be stuffed in later this year.
They are good stock, heck he has over 150,000 TOWING miles and never had an issue, it shifts awesome after the dyno tune too!
They can be built to handle a lot. A better trans would be the 4R100, but thats mostly 2wd applications.

Yeah the one i was talking about (4r100) was behind the Lightnings from 99-03. I was thinking that the E4OD was behind the 7.3, but it could of been the 4r100 - not sure. I know my dads 2005 6.0 Powerstroke has the 5r110, so the 7.3 may of had the 4r100 just from the terminology similarities.
