I have a 1989 Merkur Scorpio with a 2.9v6. I want to change out the engine to a 3.0 Vulcan which in 1993 used the same engine computer as my car; the EEC IV. I am located in Lincolnton, NC. Has anyone ever done this swap before with their Ranger or is their an engine builder in these parts that you guys may know of that can rebuild my 2.9 v6such that it is as silky smooth as the 3.0 vulcan. Would it be much better to drop in a 4.0l v6 as apposed to the 3.0 vulcan since the 4.0l is related to 2.9. I do not want a hot rod, I just want to stock engine but slightly modified with all the issues corrected that plagued the 2.9. Please help me out here!!!
