yup my plastic tail gate handle broke today on my 99. just want 2 know does any1 know how much does the handle cost at the dealer ship. went to the dealers part shop and they were closed. Kind of sucked got there at 5:40pm and they closed at 5:30. but ya does any1 know how much does it cost?

i broke mine over the weekend and just ordered a metal one from Wayne... total was 19 after shipping.. before shipping was 14.

this will be my 3rd handle.. i broke the original stock plastic one last winter... then replaced it with the same plastic handle.. and that just broke this past weekend.. so i said screw it and ordered a metal one. i advise anyone to do the same, lol.

 

lol. i was thinking to get the plastic handle because it will match my truck. the metal one is all chrome and don’t have anything 2 match it with. if you said the plastic handle keeps on breakin then I am better off going with the metal then.

But just wondering how much does the plastic handle cost at the dealer?

he has a black metal handle.. .at least i hope it's metal, lol.. that's the one i just ordered cause i'm in the same boat.. i have nothing else chrome on the truck.

the stock plastic one from the dealer i think was something like 12-15 bucks.. i could be way off though.... i bought it about 16 months ago and i can't remember that well!

 

lol i fell dumb. i did not check on the Select Finish. it say please choose black or chrome. ha i just looked at the picture. haha o well thanks all.

 

Just keep in mind the black is a satin finish (dull). It won't match black trucks, although the plastic ones aren't shiny either. Very easy to paint if you want to match the body color.

I bought a plastic one from the dealer about 2 years ago and I want to say between $20 and $30. I know that's a big range but it has been a while.

 

I bought a real metal one off of ebay for like $15 bux, ive had it for a couple years and not a problem.

 

12.99 for a chrome one at advance auto I got one on my truck, it's a dif style from the earlier rangers though but it looks good

 

Have them look up the part # for a 1998 Ranger handle. It was steel and came pre-painted in most of the 1998 colors. Thats how I got my red metal one. I think I paid a little less than $20 when it was all said and done.
