Tailgate panel screw size

Does anyone know what size screws the panel on the inside of the tailgate takes? It's the panel that you would remove to access the tailgate handle mechanicals from the inside. I removed the factory bedliner and need some good stainless screws to re-fasten the panel. It's just kinda held in there now with a couple temporary screws that I had in the garage that are a little too small.

Well, I shop vac all the garbage out, flushed all the sh*t out of there, and washed it all down with soap and a sponge.

Makes me wish I had a bedliner for the last few years.

I can't keep bolts in there after installing mine. They vibrate themselves out, and that's even after using threadlocker. I think I need better bolts.

Only thing open is Lowes & Home Depot today (which dont have decent metric stainless sizes) and I need the truck tomorrow since my work car is in the shop so I found that #14 x 3/4 sheet metal screws work just fine and tighten down. Probably not the exact perfect size but they work for now. If only the Fastenall store down the street was open on Sundays. Those guys probably hate it when they see me walk in the door cause I'm usually looking for some crazy obscure bolt or something that they have to spend alot of time looking up...lol

So... Anyone found out ? T30 or M6.3 for that tailgate panel ? I have a Ranger 2010 and the design is the same. I bought it whit the panel and the lining of the tailgate dissassembled and with no screws to assemble it. The previous owner obviously let it go for a while whit a lot of other tiny problems pending. But got it for less :p

Bolts for the tailgate insert!

Yeah, i just went to the junk yard today and pulled a new (to me) handle and tailgate insert, and had problems with the old screw that went through plastic... they have the space in between the head and screw. Someone on here commented that license plate fasteners worked and i can confirm it, swung by Autozone and picked up two boxes of the fasteners because 8 in total are needed and theres 4 in a box. and put them in while i was still in the parking lot! Just in case anybody wanted to know i really like the fasteners because they are smoothed and rounded so its not a jagged edge if i need something to be on the tailgate.

Ill leave a link for the fasteners below. I know this was posted in 2010 but if i ran into this issue I'm sure someone else may be wondering the same thing!
