Talking dealer down on price.
make every little problem seem like a really big deal, unless youre buying new of course
i got 300 off because i didnt want the tonneau cover it came with. 600 because the tires were pretty worn, 100 for body damage and rusted window trim. all this after gave him an offer.
just try to nickel and dime them

Check out Edmunds' TMV calculator. This is how I determined a reasonable starting point on the FX4 I bought earlier this week. Deduct anything that you'll have to replace or fix soon and go from there.
oh yeah how I got my dealer to go down on the price? Showed them I am a X plan Partner... Didn't even have to negotiate a final price haha It was what it was with the x plan.
A, X, or Z plans only apply to new vehicles-he's looking at a used one.

I can get the A plan but not sure how much that is off.
The thing I find that works find the truck you really want , then drive around and find another dealer close and just pick a simular truck that you also want , Call the dealer of lot 2 tell them your coming to look at it , then go back to lot 1 and test drive that truck to lot 2 and get both salesmen knocking off price left and right normally the second lot will win because his sales manager can aprove it right there .
My friend did this looked at the almost exact same truck just differant color and only few miles off and the second lot came off 3k on the spot then got them to eat TTL and extended warrenty , the best part is the first salesman goes back empty handed .
But the only bad side is if you play hardball on the truck your buying thell knock it off the trade in .

Check out this article. really good read. A little long but worth it. http://www.edmunds.com/advice/buying...2/article.html
I decide what I think is a fair and reasonable price for the vehicle I'm looking at and I pretty much won't budge on that price. I always do my research first so I have a good idea what I should be paying. Don't let the salespeople pressure you and always be willing to walk away.
Definately. Most people don't know you can deal with the fleet dept. even if you're buying it for yourself. Definately go in there and they can help with new or used.
just an FYI
i bought my truck in 04, new, for $17,000
it has 2 doors, cruise, power windows, locks, and a cd player, 4wd, 4.0 auto.
it didnt come with: tint, mp3 payer, 4 doors, fog lights, or carpet. I have a rubber floor and LOVE it.
