Are u sure? Here in Nevada at least, if u make under a certain amount of money, and the correct amount of taxes are taken out you tend to get all, or nearly all, of whatever federal taxes were witheld.

I would imagine you should get close to a few hundred bucks back.

It may be different state to state, depend on what you claim on your W4, and if you are dependant or not.

But my first year working I made around that much. I got back like 30 from the government, but ended up owing the state like 40 or something.

My wife and I cant make ourselves save money at all, so I have more taken out for taxes each week at my fulltime job, then at Home Depot I have them take Married filing single +20 per check. Last year we got back about $7000 (2 kids and a wife in college helps alot), we paid some bills and did some remodeling to the house, and we each took about $1500 for whatever. Then tough times came along and we needed to borrow, so this year we are finally going to be more responsible and put almost all of it in the bank, then if something comes up we have it, and can pay ourselves back. After a year of that then we will allow ourselves to have some fun with the tax refund again, just gotta build a safety net first.

Before I had any decent deductions I would be lucky to get $300 back. I was making pretty good income, plus I had a decent saving account going so I didnt have any deductions.

You should have filled it out when u started working wherever you work. Then at the end of the year you should get your W2 in the mail which is what tells you how much you made and how much taxes were taken out. THe W2 is what is used for filing your taxes.

As well, "free market" is an oxymoron, there is nothing free about a free market. Everything has a dependance on itself and others to support it, government included. One domino falls, they all fall.
"Free Market" is a market in which the government/state has absolutley no involvement. Prices and goods in a free market are left entirely up to demand, supply, and competition.

But I wont argue politics as there is too much crap to sort through to make any real arguments about it.
Fine, I am a Roast! baste me, Explain to me How this "Non Free market" works and would collapse without the government? Are you talking about Coprporate welfare? are you Talking about Federal Regulations? What exactly are you talking about? Explaing to me how it is a Good thing that the Government takes 25% of my pay and 45% of my parents to keep me in a Job? Explain how we managed before we even had Income taxes and in the 50's when the average was 5% and mothers could afford to stay home with the Children if they wanted too. Now it is almost a requirement to have two incomes.Explain to me how that is Moral? Explain to me how Americans can't do it for themselves? Explain to me that this Atempted Socialization of America has done anything but be Detrimental to the welfare of our youth? I need to wake up from this dream, help me out. How can Government help me?

This is a truck forum, I care not to talk about politics anymore, as it is, I side with you guys that taxes are a joke and need to be replanned. But us *****ing about it on here and possibly starting a mass argument won't achieve anything, other than a possible sour taste in our mouth toward eachother because of different views, opinions, information, and idealistic views.
