Timing Question
Timing Question
So this is on a 2006 Ranger with a 2.3L DOHC motor.
I'm replacing the cylinder head, and now I have to time the motor.
Do you recommend bolting the cam sprockets on first, then putting on the chain or should I leave those sprockets loose, put the timing tool in the back and then tighten the cam bolts? Obviously holding the cams with a wrench so I don't break them with the flat tool in the back. Right now I have them torqued on, once I get the new head bolts I'll be torquing the head down and then re-timing the motor.
Thanks,
Tim
