I've brought my parents' cars down there for oil changes, but never any tire work. They did everything in a reasonable amount of time and there work seems to be pretty good.

i would take my truck to jiffy lube before walmart... and i will NEVER take my truck to jiffy lube so to answer your question i would not let walmart do your tires... check sears or costco

Come to Costco... where I work(in the tire shop)

I know WM had issues in the past and sounded like the dealt with them, but I couldn't tell you more as I don't know more.

I just put new tires on my truck the other day. The only thing that I would say is don't be surprissed if we say no too some large tire size. If they don't say anything then you got lucky and get the tires you want, but largest you should be able to sneak on should be 31's and you would need to say that your truck is an FX4II to try and pull that off. I work there so I just put them on, but you know how that goes

I would only go if I know the technicians, ask around see if anybody has went to the one in your town, every wal mart is gonna be different. I am the service manager in our TLE.

Chris- got lucky as I would have just told you have fun :D policy is policy and the fact that you got 33's surprisses me a little. On your ranger?

Zach- also getting a little lucky on that one, though that is one of the ways that you can TRY working it. Dang sounds like they are a little easier on the east costs

well the thing is they keep asking what vehical are these wheels going on. and i was like what vehical i just am having the tires mounted, theres no vehical i am keeping them in my garage lol...i know there policy i think its BS but thats me. the guy was like what i dont know doesnt hurt me...

buddy of mine has a 69 camaro, and has new 17's he got, went to go take the wheels in, and they asked what vehical, so he told them. they kept telling him all they could mount was 14" wheel bias ply tires. he died laughing and was like where you gonna order those smart *** lol...needless to say he went somewhere else. we all think cosco is a joke around here i will order my tires from them and mount them myself it aint hard... thank god i have a balancer too. but knowing them they wont let me just order tires lol..

what i love is on the floor of cosco there is two sets. 1 set is 35x12.5x15 BFG muds... and 1 set of 33x12.5x15 BFG A/T SITTING ON THE SHOW ROOM FLOOR.... now tell me with cosco's stupid policy what vehical came with these tires stock!!!! lol...OMG there so stupid there...no offince

LOL yea and my whole family. Honestly I would try and find a hole in the wall shop that has been around awhile. If you have to pay a little more to get it done right then I would do that.

Zach, cosTco will sell you any tire that we can get, but if it is not OE then you would pay for the tire(minus installation) and could take it somewhere else. I bet those 35's and 33's where somebody ordering them and then never picking them up.

Sorry, but saying the policy is BS is sort of retarded. If you don't like it fine, but there are reason's behind it. Less liability issues if you only put tires that are recommended by the manufacturer. If something happens there is no saying, you allowed me to put on a larger size and it caused me to roll over, etc... my opinion as to one of the reason's behind it. I agree that it sucks if we can't put the tire on that you want, but honestly it's not like Costco is the only tire store around, go somewhere else.

The current tires I got from wal-mart they were excellent to buy from. They have great prices and and they even throiugh in lifetime road hazzard on my tires which i used this summer when i got a nail in my tire I didnt even have to bring in my paperwork there were no questions asked. IMHO Walmart is great to deal with Id have no problem letting them change me oil but I like to do that myself.

This thread brought up an old story I remember I member before I dropped my truck I wanted to get 235/60/15 for my truck so i did not rub after it was dropped. I dont know if you guys have a conrads by you but we have some here in ohio. I asked prices for the 235/60/15 and they said they arent listed for my year so I said look up 97 ranger splash ext cab 2wd so he did and it listed them so I said I want those on my 98 the guy said it wouldnt work because my truck is a different weight and they would not mount them for insurance and safety issues so I argued with him and asked whats the weight difference between my 98 ext cab 2wd and the 97 splash ext cab 2wd and the splash was like 100 or so less than my truck and they still would not mount them. I just dont understand it they are basically the same trucks and he said it would not work and they would not mount them haha. I told them to **** off and walked out.

I get my oil changed regularly at Wal-Mart and have had ZERO issues with them. There service is great and its almost half the price of anywhere else. ... I probably will take my truck there when its time for some new tires but I'll be stickign with the original size so I dont see a problem with them

I dont know about your guy's Wal-Marts but the ones around here have nothing but retards working there. I think they can get around some taxes by hiring people with mental handicaps. I work at Les Schwab, none of you guys have probably heard of it as it is only in the pacific northwest, but it is the greastest tire store in the world, we have over 400 locations. We specialize in making your vehicle look sweet. We will try and stuff the biggest tires or wheels we can on a car we will even cut the fenders to make them fit. I think its crap when I hear people having to argue with a tire salesman about what tire will fit and be safe.
