topend
How can I get more topend out of my 2003 2.3l ford ranger . I have put a jet performance chip in it a cold air intake and flowmaster exhaust on it. But it will only go 90 miles an hour in fourth gear

If you're trying to outrun the Panther Platform with the twinkling Christmas tree on the roof and in the grill, you'll need better machinery. But really, 90 is more than enough for a Ranger; it's a pickup, not a car. Blame it on the retarded felon for running from the cops in an Explorer that got in a wreck, was paralyzed, and sued Ford and WON on the grounds that Ford made and sold to the general public, a vehicle that was capable of going faster than needed for it's intended purpose. Maybe it's not so bad that they put governors in vehicles after all, I don't want to have some Ranger (or any other pickup/SUV) coming my way at 90+ MPH on a two lane road.

Yeah, my Ranger has no problem doing 120+, well until I get the good gears back under it. :-P
But it's only seen the plus twice in the two years I've had it, after 95 it becomes pretty unstable.
I'm lifted on M/T's though, I'm sure thats one reason it handles like poop.
It is fun though, I can't lie, when I watch my speedo wrap back around almost all the way. I have a after market speedo that stops at 120. :-P
But no, don't go that fast. You'll die.
