Are you serious? What sites have you seen this on? Every Ranger forum I'v ever seen, heck every forum I'v been on with something like this has been civil. Who would bash on another persons nomination for TOTM? Thats just rediculus, if you dont think that person should be TOTM, then dont vote for them...

Gearhead61 08-02-2005 02:10 PM

Exactly. Pretty much we'll just open a thread at some given time on the 15th of the month, 7 people will put in a nomination, some people will put the "I'm with stupid" smiley in and show their support for one truck or the other, the topic will get closed, and then the poll will open. I don't think anyone here will be immature about it.

INT3RC3PTOR 08-02-2005 06:25 PM

i hope this goes through...also where will this sticky or wat not be located? id like to start voting :)...

well i guess i make the 2 posts a day rule...pfff

lets ive got like....9 a day lol...

ive only been here for about a week, and i have over 80 posts, man do i ever need a life

so lets say i get nominated for TOTM on the 15th. i leave for arizona on the 16t h and dont knwo when i will have my computer and everythign set up. should i lose totm nomination because i was away, or on vacation...whatever.

i know thats an extreem case, but i think as long as someone posts an average of one post per week thats active enough. there are ALOT of things i dont post on, if someons answer is already covered i dont just reiterate what they said. I am sure there are alot of people like me here who just read alot and post when they feel its constructice. would someone who reads all the posts every day and makes 1 good, technical post per week be less active than someone who posts 10 times a day in all the snapshot threads saying "looks good!".

besides that it all looks like its ready to roll

SoundPer4mance 08-02-2005 08:09 PM

i say that people that HAD rangers should be able to enter thier new truck as well  i know that applies to myself and ryan and a few other people too. what do you think :borladuck

Pinecone 08-02-2005 08:24 PM

I thought that's what Bob would put. We're not here just cause we like you guys, we still have a lil knowledge about the trucks we once had.

SoundPer4mance 08-02-2005 08:25 PM

ryan you NEED a new avatar!!

Pinecone 08-02-2005 08:32 PM

I sent a pic to Leo, its in the works:)

Gearhead61 08-02-2005 10:38 PM

I think 1 or 1.5 posts per day would be acceptable also. And Alon I was thinking the exact same thing about your Arizona trip sort of thing. Perhaps there can be some sort of rain check for extreme circumstances like that? I realize it's a long shot in the dark that anything would happen like that, but if it does, I'm sure the moderators could come up with something fair for everyone involved.

$tone02 08-02-2005 11:12 PM

When is this starting?

Gearhead61 08-02-2005 11:16 PM

Hopefully this month, on August 15th

EDGE57 08-03-2005 02:53 AM

sweet TOTM is back. too bad i feel like such a newb on these forums compared to G-E

Pinecone 08-03-2005 04:07 AM

Damn and no thought about us ex-Ranger guys, but I guess that what happens when you are on a Ranger site. Never won one with the ranger, lol.(sympathy, sympathy)

Mnemonic 08-03-2005 06:53 AM

Yeah, the good thing is we can actually have the polls on this forum instead of running it on a separate board.

Pinecone, you are hearby awarded Truck of the Month for March of 1983. Enjoy! :smirk:

Alon, on the vacation thing, I don't think that will really be a problem. If someone says you're out of town until a certain date, then you'll probably get a little leeway. Worse case you can get re-nominated the next month, and that won't be the end of the world.

About when it starts? I'm assuming there will be an announcment after the guys in charge finalize the details. Thanks to everyone for their input.

Well I guess, I mean you two both still have TRUCKS technically, so it could be Truck of the Month still... And you're both prominent members on the site, and TOTM is about the members behind the trucks as much as it is about the trucks... What does everyone else think about that?

Mnemonic brang up a good point about always being nominated next month also. A little leeway would also be an easy thing to give in an extreme case like that.

Anyways, let's make a decision about people who've had Rangers in the past (and still have trucks, we can't have the truck of the month be a mustang!) and then I will punch up a "Final Draft" for the rules.

ScottG 08-03-2005 12:10 PM

i still think it has to be a ranger that someone owns, thats why we are on a ranger site

and Sound, we can always nominate your wife's ranger

nautiqueman15 08-03-2005 12:18 PM

This thing sound good to me! I think we should let the people who dont have rangers anymore still have an opportunity to be truck of the month even if its not a ranger. They contribute a lot and should still be eligable to win for that month. Thats just my thoughts though.

rngprerunner 08-03-2005 12:19 PM

Just remember, you cant please every body.

I think the rules are just fine as they stand.

Gearhead61 08-03-2005 01:44 PM

Very good point Jason. Just trying to please as many as I can :smirk:
