Tree fell on the roof.. fixable?

Bought this 08 ranger xlt for cheap hoping that the damage was fixable. Ive gotten mixed reviews from friends I've asked. I stripped out the roof liner on the inside to get a better look at the dents but was met by a secondary skin plate that's hiding most of the dents. Also, she is now stuck in 4x4 hi. Won't move or go into gear without loud continuous grinding and banging. Can hear ticking from underneath the truck by the front diff. Would it be the 4x4 transfer case or transfer case motor that needs to be replaced? Nothing showing on OBD. Any thoughts on the truck and what fixing it would entail, would be greatly appreciated!

A good body shop should be able to fix that. May need a new roof shell for sure. Not sure what up with your 4X4.

You'll need to go to a salvage yard and buy another cab and then cut it off at the window pillars. Then same with this truck, then weld on the new roof cap. Same exact thing as doing a chop top cept you wont have to cut the doors. When you do this cut, do it as low as you can. Reason being is that the pillars on the truck now are likely bowed from the tree impact and wont seal. Make certain the doors are closed when you weld on the new cap so that you can use that for part of lining it up correctly. Using .023 wire in a MIG machine, same as you would on exhaust welding would be ideal for this.
