Check engine light at 40k miles????

Ok heres the deal, my truck has ran perfect (other than needing sea-foam badly) till 40k miles and now the check engine light comes on, Other than oil changes I have never turned a bolt on the motor. Im taking it in tomorrow to Ford to have them plug it in. Its a 2002 with 40k miles... Im thinking it probley needs quite a few things (plugs, wires, seafoam, ect.) It still runs fine and is actually getting 14.4 mpg city (it has never got over 14 with the 33's) should I be worried? whatever they tell me is wrong, im going to fix myself, but they give free estimates... LOL I did notice my low octane ping has gotten bad sooooo i guess its time to do some maintenance on her... ughhh

its probably just a bad sensor take it to autozone they will check the code for free then you can replace whatever sensor is bad.

woohoo autozone lol.....yea they may just give you a print out of the code with a few probable causes which most of them say ur car is gonna blow up pretty much.

So post the code and I'll tell you what that code most often ends up being

Forget about it.

I always just let the truck worry about it's own problems. usually solves it's self

What does the EVAP line look like? I read up its near the battery, I can't seem to locate it? I just body lifted my truck about 2 weeks ago and my check engine light came on this morning.... Figured I would bring this thread up again instead of posting a new one..

if it's the same as a 97 it's just normal rubber vac line with a couple of solenoids/valves placed in line; attached to the charcoal canister usually behind the driver's side headlight. CEL .. u need the code(s)...
hope this helps
