New Seats! Great junkyard find!

My brother and I went to the junkyard on friday and came across some very good condition seats out of an '05 focus, so we pulled them and brought them home. Saturday morning we started trying to work on them but we we're stupid and didnt measure anything or make sure they'd be even close to fitting, so today I pulled the old seats out and tried to fit the new seats, and they're way off, but with a bit of jimmyrigging I can make them work, I have to get some longer bolts and nuts tomarrow from work but here's what I have so far

it looks really good, atleast a lot better than my old seats, by the way are free to whoever wants to come get them, the drivers back doesn't stay and was only being held up by the jumper seat, the guy who had it before me tried to weld it, but the weld sucked and all it did was burn through the material and foam

Before you buy always think, will they fit?

i really hope the block of wood isn't staying. do it right and build some metal brackets. other than that, the seats looks good and will look good in the truck.

the wood is staying for now, I'll either weld the old brackets on to it, but it already sits too high, or I'll get some square tube

yeah we were thinking of doing something with the stock brackets, i thought of using U-bolts but then the seat would move around, and I wanted to weld the brackets on but I dont have a welder, plus if I did that then I would sit too high, and I really don't care about safety, I don't want to hop away from a crash, BUT the passenger seat fits well and all 4 corners will bolt to the floor when I drill the holes

what a great way to think. why not just set the seat in there and not worry about bolting it down. building a bracket from some angle iron or even some flat plate steel isn't that hard.

All young guys think time will never catch them and their bodies are indestructible. Or even that that if they die, so what?

I never thought I'd make it past my 30s. I was a scuba diver and a pilot and I always figured I'd go quick. But instead I got my clock cleaned in a plane crash and went through a very difficult period in my life while my mangled arm and crushed hip healed. Now I'm older and have come to grips with the changes in my body but I've got to tell you, if I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself.

And my folks were right about loud rock & roll music. Huh? What'd ya say?

OP, i'd jsut sell those focus seats and look for ranger ones. if you got pulled over and the cop saw those, he'd probably impound you truck for lack of properly functioning safety system.

well I drove it to work today and hated it, I sat way too high and it was very uncomfortable, so I'm gonna sell the seats(or find the reciept and take them back) and put the stock seats back in, the back rest is still annoying so i'll figure something out
