Bad day for my ranger
Going to lunch today at work, and some old man in his 2004 Lexus ES 330 decided to run a stop sign.
Core support, Fender, Bumpers, Light Lenses, possible a-arm/frame as well. Prolly more that i am missing as well.
However the guy has USAA, hopefully they are decent on their claims.

WhenI was hit by a kid running a red light in the middle of the night, he started to drive off, but his g/f in the p/s seat convinced the punk to stop. He had USAA, and I never had a problem. The repair shop took care of it all.
The initial damage estimate was around $2500, but once the shop was halfway through the repairs, they found another $1000-ish worth that needed to be fixed as well. USAA cut them a check for the balance.

damn that sucks. old people....smh
going to the last meet there was an older woman going the wrong way on an OFF RAMP on the highway. I had to slam my brakes and then she began to do a 3 point turn when she realized she was going the wrong way and thats when i just went over the grass and around her. I'm not waiting for her *** to gtfo lol.
what matters is that you're ok. As everyone said, hope it all works out in your favor seeing as it wasn't your fault

Truck developed a suspension problem shortly after the wreck so I had to take a rental before parts were in at the shop. I know they had to do an alignment, but not sure what else yet as its still in the shop but hopefully ill get it back tomorrow. I am driving a 2012 Toyota Yaris which is a POS.
Was looking through my phone pics and found the wreck ones so figured id share them like I meant to but forgot. (been busy the last few weeks lol)
I did ask if they could put a black grill on but they said no. Had to be OEM according to the VIN. No biggie, I may just plasti dip it this spring since I need to redo the rims anyway.
Heres the other drivers vehicle, I assume it was totaled. 2004 Lexus ES330. Nice looking car aside from the damage.
Pics of the truck.

Not a surprise that you needed an alignment since most vehicles need one two a year anyway.

He wasnt cited because of officer discretion, guy is a retired US Navy vet from Korea. But the officer had to explain to the old man like 5 times that he was at fault.
He said he didnt see me, My co worker was in front of me in his car, and I think the old man saw him go by, looked the other direction and went.
USAA has been a breeze to work with.

I have Farmers, my last dealing with them was about towing my car from the site of the accident to a repair shop not on their list. I was on the way to the hospital for x-rays and I called my wife to get the car towed. I didn't see her for about 45 minutes after the accident and when she told that they can't tow it if it was drivable and the shop I was taking it to was not on their list of shops. That hurt worse the getting hit!!! All insurance companies at one time or another force you to leave them, after years of accident free driving they toss some stupid reason you weren't covered. The guy that hit me was covered by State Farm, I talked to the agent a few minutes and he said the shop I had the car at was on his list of shops to use.
Farmers has a lack of "Help Line", after getting back from the hospital, I was on the phone with someone for about 20 minutes telling them all the info my agent had......WHY???

I am a member of USAA and have multiple accounts with them throughout the years. I have filed 3 claims with them, 2 being incidents when I wasn't at fault 3rd being a windsheild claim. They are a stand up company to deal with and luckily that I am a member of. While Geico was $200 a year cheaper from me at the time, USAA will get my business until I can't use them anymore.

I didn't want to turn it in to a long story but the agent at Farmers said that if the car can be driven from the accident then they would not pay for a tow. I informed her that at that time I was on my way to the hospital and I wasn't aware if the brakes lights still worked and the area where the car was parked wasn't a great place to leave it. The whole cost to repair the car under State Farm was $15,000. Cost of the repairs, out of pocket money and 6 weeks of a rental car. If that wasn't enough...I got a bill from the fire department for $370.00 for the fire truck that was sent to the accident. A week to the day that we settled I called the State Farm agent and he said he denied all 3 claims (one for each car that was involved) for the same fire truck. Most of us think nothing about paying what we do for insurance but when something stupid like "not paying for a tow" or "not approving the repair shop" for an accident I didn't cause make me believe that no matter how many cars I have with them or year of our accident free driving still isn't enough for any insurance company. When I got married, my wife and I had different insurance companies. I made a few calls and the first one to show up at the door was American Family. We both had older cars and I told him every car I had since I graduated from high school. The next day my wife called me at work saying that the agent from American Family called saying I didn't tell him about an accident I had with a 88 Chevy and the price we agreed on would go up by $125. When I got home from work I called him, the first question I asked him???? Whats your fathers name???? silence for a bit and my next question was, all that info I gave you about what I owned since high school, none was an 88 Chevy . I did own a 90 Chevy Astro and my dad had the accident in his 88 Asrto. If you would have called and ask me first instead of raising the price on my policy then I might not cancel the policies. I'm 50 years old and do less driving now then ever, both our cars are over 6 years old and under 50,000 miles each. That saying is so...when you get married your cost for insurance drops but they find ways of keeping it there for the rest of your life.

Got her back today. Gonna Reinstall my tool box and CB setup tomorrow.
USAA has been one of the best I have dealt with. Very quick and when my suspension issue popped up it was not a problem. I just called them up, they said to take it to the shop (I could of had it towed but the shop was 5mi from my house, I didnt mind that drive, its the 40mi round trip to work every day that I was worried about). and they gave me the rental.
The had to replace
Front fender Brace
Turn Bulb
Front Bumper Isolator Brace
Fender Liner
Bumper Cover
Valance
Side Lamp
Headlamp
Fog Lamp
Fender
Grill
Core Support
And the suspension ended up the alignment had moved out of wack when I hit a bump.
Total came to just over 3 grand. Lower than I anticipated. I guessed about 5 grand.
I told them that I was not worried about getting it back cleaned/detailed if that is all that was holding it up before the weekend. The manager when I got there appoligized for not getting a full clean up on it, and I told him that I honestly did not mind, I took it in dirty, I was not expecting to get it back detailed. As long as there isnt grease on the steering wheel or something, im happy. He said he understood but he didnt like vehicles going out like that, I just told him that I am going to be going down some dirt roads hauling stuff to the farm this weekend and that it was just going to get dirty again, then he understood and laughed.
Just sucked not having the truck for 3 weeks.
EDIT*** Also, When I bought the truck, the front bumper had been repainted at one time because it didnt match well.
Now it matches great. I think it will really look great this summer after I get the grille painted black with the plastidip.
