I removed my plastic front wheelwell liners and one of my vacuum reservoir Lines snapped at the reservoir when I was releasing the plastic pop river from the guard. I was able to order a new reservoir but now I have a small coolant puddle on the ground, I never had a coolant leak before. Can loss of vacuum cause coolant to leak? Is there anything I need to do to the coolant system now when I replace the reservoir? It looks like it seeping from the spring clamp to/from the heater core near the firewall in the passenger side of the truck. Green arrow.
I looked through many threads and couldn’t find what I was looking for, so if this exists somewhere else, sorry. Thanks!
That's the heater by-pass valve that's circled, they do leak, hose may have moved a bit and it's small crack is now bigger, need to replace it
Could just be a loose hose as well
The Grey vacuum line on it runs to the firewall and into the cab for the Climate control, it only has vacuum in MAX AC setting, it diverts hot coolant away from heater core in the cab when you want "max cooling" in the cab
Vacuum reservoir has 2 vacuum ports, there IS an IN and OUT, not interchangeable
Blow into each port, the one you CAN Blow into goes to the vacuum line that also runs to firewall, its for vent control in the cab, i.e. defrost, panel of floor
The other one runs to engines intake manifold
