Help, have had a leak in my 2002 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT for months now have swishing water behind the seats under the carpet. How can I get this water out without paying someone to tear out the carpet???

I have siliconed endlessly around the 3rd brake light inside and out and somehow water keeps trickling in. During a heavy rain the water is building up and I hope it will not rust out the bottom of the truck.

 

check weather stripping, check rear side glass and windshield,

 

I have taken it through the car wash by necessity during the winter and the water was coming in like a faucet in the rear corner, passenger side. Since then have siliconed outside around the frame of the back window, inside and around the brake light on top. Yesterday it poured rain and just a little still found its way in now by the glass in the back. Did not silicone below the plastic molding, guess that is next.

Do it like the how-to or you can just run a line of clear silicone on top of the rear window outside the cab below the third brake light

 

I did run it outside, guess I need to do it again. Yes, I will look at the How to and get more silicone today. Thank you so much for the help.
