weekend rock crawling

weekend rock crawling

so me and my two buddies I wheel with (sas yota and sas zr2) went to some trails in brookline nh this past weekend fun until my friction plate cracked in half but i got a few pics from the trip

this is the exit of the trail the picture doesnt quite do it justice its pretty much a 60degree incline

the grooved 36 tsl held there own on the rain covered rocks but im sure there no pitbulls, but i think airing down helped big even though it was kinda sketchy without beadlocks

what pressure were you running? how wide is the tire and the wheel?

i think you could run 8 without much trouble. airing down is the best.

are you locked up front?

tires are only 12.50 on 8 inch wheels i was running 10 up front and 15 in the back, no open up front, i wished i was locked in the front would have pulled me threw alot of that stuff without hesitation

yea rocks were sharp my buddy in the yota put a 6 inch slice in the sidewall of his bfg mt im proud to say the tsls just laughed at the rocks

way too much air in the rear. you needed to run like 6 in the rear and 8 in the front.

im nervious to go down that low though thinking im gonna spin the tire on the rim o rbreak the bead all together

6 is way too low w/o bead locks.

10 in the front is the lowest i'll go, most of the time its around 12 depending what i'm on.. he doesnt need his tires at 6psi, thats asking for trouble w/o bead locks.. Its not like the stuff you went wheelin on where every bit of traction helped lol


and idk whats up with BFGs, my buddy with a sas'd yota slices bfgs left and right.

Damn looks like fun. No way in hell i would even get over 1 of those rocks haha. I need to buy myself a beater soon.

10? ha

i ran 5-8 hot pressure on no beadlocks. idk i like to run it as low as possible, why not? every little bit helps no matter what wheeling you are doing.

cause where i go.. if you lose a beat there's a VERY good chance its gonna be in a water/mud hole.. so then not only do you have to deal with a lost bead, your tire is then full of mud and water.. I hated breaking the tire half way down at work, pulling one bead off, then washing it, getting as much water out as i could.. then taking it the rest of the way off, cleaning the other bead then putting it back together. I would rather have fun with the skinny pedal than deal with that again.

10 pounds in the front has never left me hangin.. the only downfall i had was having the bald tires up front so i had no traction getting out of a hole/up a dirt ledge once

yeah blowing a bead would suck but I was saying there is no need to run more psi in the rear than the front??

I have blown a bead at 15psi, doesnt really matter sometimes what PSI you are at, its just gonna happen.

i run less in the rear.. and i've run 5 once and ran one trail, i hate having that extra thing to think about.. i would rather keep them around 10 and not worry about it yet still have plenty of traction.

I ran 6-8 in the front and 6 in the rear all day long on my MTR's with no bead locks.

I only rolled a bead once and I'm pretty sure it would have happend with 10.

You just have to be smart with it. Dont drive it into a jagged rock with the wheels turned all the way. Or try to spin doughnuts in a parking lot (hehe oops...)

To be safe i would run 8 in the front and 6 in the rear. 15 is def WAY to much.

Swampers are stiff as crap too...

yea there super stiff even at ten you couldnt tell they were down until the most of the weight was on one tire
and pedro there might be one sitting in my garage right now waiting for a supercharger

idk 5psi at the peak of the day in Texas...thats also stuffed so its got pressure on it.
