Well... it's time for me to move on... =[
Well after almost 7 years and 75,000 faithful, and dependable miles. I have traded in my 2003 Tremor 3.0. I never thought it would be so hard to say good buy or let go of a vehicle.. But me and Marla have decided to go our separate ways. Ime letting her keep the low profile tool box and the chrome side steps... and the ipod hookup that was damn near impossible to find(only thanks to this forum did i find it). But don't think I will dwell. I have moved on with my life and found someone else... Shelia. Thanks for everyone who has answered any questions, and for those who sold me odds and ends to make me love my Ranger even more.
This is Shelia... 2004 Ford F150 Larait
And if some of you never got a chance to see her... these picture where from the last real road trip me and Marla took down to Daytona 2 weeks ago..
Ill miss that truck.

You get more room now but sorry to hear you had to make a change. At least you stayed with Ford. I am now a new owner(as of today) of a '02 Ranger Tremor Ed. I am curious as to what you did to get your iPod hooked up. My cassette adapter doesn't utilize the sub so its kinda worthless. Any thoughts?

That was kinda depressing to read lol. Iv neevr been too connected to a vehicle, probably because Iv never put time and effort into one lol. I usually trade every year but my gma says im stuck with my ranger for at least 3 years cuz shes done cosigning. I plan on making this Ranger worthwhile in the meantime. Glad to hear its a Ford. Another fella on here sold his Ranger and bought a Dodge Ram. Yuck!

Is there any way to just connect my iPod directly to the sub in the back? I have cassette adapter for the front stereo.

Im running a tremor sound system and had to get a RF modulator to get IPOD/MP3 hook up. Works like an FM transmitter but has WAY better signal. Hook up ur input device, put radio on a preset station, flip a switch (kills radio antenna and feeds it the input audio) and youve got your tunes. Got it at bestbuy...$100 iSimple IS77

I was looking for a way to do direct hookup BUT that seems like a good way to do things. As long as it plays through the whole system not just the front speakers that sounds good thanks for the info. You had to take the stereo out to hook that up right? As long as it had good directions should be no problem.
I had an fm iPod transmitter when I was in high school and it did pretty well so if this gets better signal then it should be good to go.

The real question is what is the sound quality like? I read a couple reviews saying the bass volume wasn't too great or that the volume overall was lower than normal any observations there?

The downfall is that you lose some volume and get some static in the City but it works for me.

no... you should have built in cd changer controls though... mine didnt have a cd changer either... but if you press the "cd" button twice... it would say "cddj" which was for if you have hooked up a cd changer.... search the threads... this is covered somewhere here

I had one for my car in high school and it worked well enough so I know what you mean but I care about sound now and the static and searching for a good station isn't what I want. This way won't cost much more hopefully. If you hard wire it you won't have a problem with all that.
