A vehicle used for prerunning, like Alon said, is one for learning a course before it is raced. This term has come to be known mostly for trucks, both race-ready or for play now as well. Building a "prerunner" for show is like winning the lottery and just holding onto the stub. It has so much potential but your trophy means more to you than using it.

I don't see why everyone hears "prerunner" and automatically thinks sand dunes. Prerunning is for race courses all over the desert, and has only spilled into the sand dune area because of people that take their trucks out there. Prerunner and dune buggy are two entirely different things, they may cross over once in a while, but one or the other was not specifically meant for dunes or dirt.

I'm going to leave this one alone.

This one too, it's self-explanatory.

Haha Trent for mud you know I'm right! He was referring to taking it into mud but 'nothing hardcore.' Anyways, I think you cali fellas knocked a little bit of sense into him!

Honestly fletch, it sounds more like you need a daily driver car, not another moneypit truck. One of those is enough! Haha consider something like a Focus or a Civic or Accord or whatever. Something that will run till the wheels fall off and get good mileage doing it. Build up your truck and make it your weekend warrior or dd/ww. Or put that money in for a downpayment on the house mod. Like I said before; I don't mean to come off harsh in any way, it just seems to me like you have some money and not a clue what to spend it on. Personally when I'm in that situation, I hold onto that money until I know what I want to spend it on.

Well if you like the pre-runner "look" I say go ahead and do it, dont let other people influence you on what YOU want. On the other hand you do have a perfectly good working truck that I can see so If I was you I would do the house mod as others mentionned but its your decision on what you want man.

Yeah, it's all about the look, who cares about function. I mean, I've spent thousands so far getting my truck to look cool, who cares if it works or not just as long as it looks like it could.

here is the definition of a prerunner from desertrides.com . You can find other terms defined as well as race classes, costs, etc. all on www.desertrides.com .

prerunner : a vehicle used to pre-run courses for race trucks. A common misconception is that a prerunner is simply a lifted 2wd truck, but this is not the case at all. Prerunners come in all shapes and sizes, 2wd, 4wd, truck, buggy, etc. Many race teams build prerunners that have interchangeable parts with the race vehicle, and the prerunner can sometimes run a race in place of the race vehicle in severe cases.

Hey some people care about function and some people dont. If someone is only looking for looks I say go ahead if you want its your money. Not saying its something I would do but if someone else wants to its totally up to them.

Then it wasn't a prerunner, it was a disco truck. Prerunners aren't "huge," they are made to do what they do with the lowest CG possible.

I think these are the smartest words ever spoken by you

This coming from a guy that has owned 13 Vehicles now-- I wish I just drove the wheels off my first truck, keep up on the little things and the truck will last a long time. Now when I am busting *** to try and get a mortgage, I couldn't care less about owning the vehicles I have owned. Believe me, few years from now, the girls will think a nice older paid for truck, in front of a damn nice house, is much cooler then a brand new truck, that you work your *** off for, that you will always owe just as much on as its worth due to depreciation, and live in a hole in the wall appartment. This all coming from personal experience.

And by the way, Prerunning is something you do, its not a truck.

i think you just need to take a good look at your truck dude, its an awesome looking truck. Especially that year i haven't seen one that looks as good as yours does, especially if its 4x4! you can't beat that with a stick man! 28 miles a day isn't really that much sorry to break it to you but i drive more than that to school and back and to work and to do other stuff.

wrappin it up, keep your truck!!

No, it just pisses me off when people post false information and false "facts" on here. People don't understand what they're talking about, and post anyway, and people take this information and think it's right. Ignorant people shouldn't share information.
