I don't have a dog yet. But they look better than the stock worn out seats. These will work until I can find some new seats once it's paid off.

Lost reverse gear today, so tomorrow I'm installing a 5r55e transmission out of a 04 Ranger with only 100k miles. Hopefully it won't be a pain in the *** to swap.

Mine had the 5r55e from the get go. Only difference was the newer ones had a vss sensor and from all the how to's I was reading it's a direct swap just don't plug anything into the vss sensor.

But I didn't get the transmission from the 04 anyways. I was at the pick and pull Thursday and was pulling parts off the 04 and noticed someone took the engine but left the transmission. I didn't need the transmission then or I would have taken it lol. Thursday night I was backing into my parents driveway and heard a loud clang as if I hit something and lost reverse. Went to get the transmission on Friday (yesterday) and someone else already took it.

So I got a transmission out of a 98 explorer with the 5r55e and got it swapped in yesterday. Had 170k on the clock, but I was desperate for a transmission and this was the only one I could find. Got it for $150. There were some newer ones local shops and full service yards were selling with less than 100k miles on them but they all wanted over $500 for them.

My trucks showed signs of the trans going out since I bought it but the symptoms disappeared and I thought it was good to go but it wasn't. When I drained the trans yesterday and pulled the pan the fluid was nothing but metallic and had huge flakes of metal in the pan. When I pulled the pan of the new one the fluid was clean and no signs of metal anywhere.

The new transmission has made a huge difference so much more power, smooth shifts can't even feel it shift anymore just see the rpms drop now when it shifts.

Glad to hear its working for ya, I need to start looking for another trans for my truck. The current one is fine but once my motor is done it wont put up with it for long. So find myself another one and have it sent off and built

Replaced the trailing arm bushings and an alignment. Four hundred bucks later and it rides better than a brand new Tahoe!
Also in the works, buying a set of 16 inch teardrops from an Explorer.

Put my rear bumper back on after backing into a telephone pole last Friday. Looks okay now, but I need to repaint it soon. :( Bondo does Miracles!

Yesterday I replaced the lower ball joints, upper control arms, inner tie rods, outer tie rods, power steering pump, rack and pinion, power steering lines and installed camber bolts.

Today it's getting an alignment.

Ordered some new tires--old REVOs are pretty much border-line with almost 45K miles on them. Ordered the new REVO2s in the same size--265-75R16. $70 AMEX card plus $30 instant rebate from Discount Tire.

I put this in my build thread as well, but thought I might as well dump it here also.

I ordered a bunch more stuff for the next round on my truck:
  • Zeitronix - Multi Gauge (Red Digits, Black Bezel)
  • Zeitronix - MAP sensor (50 PSI / 3.5 Bar)
  • Zeitronix - ZAVT-1 Warning/Trigger box
  • Zeitronix - 20' Harness for Oxygen Sensor
  • Zeitronix - 8' Harness for Pressure Sensor
  • Zeitronix - USB to Serial Data Adapter
  • Zeitronix - Misc. Items (Sensor Bung, Sensor Plug, Connectors etc.)
  • Threaded Style IAT Sensor w/ Harness
  • Eaton M90 Eight Groove Keyed Pulleys (2.8" & 3.0")
  • Supercharger Pulley Puller
  • Snow Performance - Water/Methanol Stage 2 MAF Boost Cooler Injection System
  • Snow Performance - Misc. Items (Bulkhead Fitting, Hose/Nozzle Mount Adapter)
  • Ford Racing - 90mm Mass Airflow Sensor (M-12579-L54)
  • Aluminum 4" Air-Filter Adapter Flange for 90mm MAF's
  • Bosch - 42lb/hr 'Green Giant' Injectors - 100% Flow Matched (Part #0280155968)
All of this stuff compliments and/or expands the abilities of the other items I purchased on Tuesday (The Zeitronix ZT-2 Controller, wideband 02 Sensor & the Pro-Racing Package software from STC).

I've got a little more info in my build thread: https://www.ranger-forums.com/projec...buster-133884/

It should be a good couple weeks for package deliveries!

Today the truck made me realize why I hate drum brakes so much. Replaced the shoes and a wheel cylinder on driver side. Possibly twisted a brake like to the point where it's leaking so I'm back to square one.

You can swap it with a rear axle out of an Explorer if you hate it that much. Then you'll have 4 wheel disc.

Better sell that thing private party. You'll never get your money out of it otherwise.
