Looks to be in decent shape. Depending on the gear ratio I would say its a pretty decent deal.

Go with expo rear end. But only if it has 4.10s or at least 3.73s.

You would have to mod the mustang rear end a lot.

Plus $350 is a rip off. I got a Level II Torsen for that.

Re-gearing is going to be lots of $$$$ especially if you can't install it.

the spring perches will need to be cut and relocated. you can use those if you are careful or get new ones. you will also have to make shock tabs, but thats pretty simple. i

if you do regear and dont go 4.88s unless your runnin 35s.

you have a lot to learn my frined! ok so heres the deal, explorer are SUA (springs under axle) and rangers are SOA (spring over axle).. meaning that the leafs perches need to be moved on top of the axle.. you see what im saying?

A L/S is not a locking diff! And at 140k its probably not even a L/S.

No. Its limited slip, not locking. There is a difference. And unless that trac loc has been rebuilt it will be so worn out it won't be anything more than an regular old open diff.

All explorer axles are 31 spline.

You'll have to do the shock tabs as well. You don't need a tig welder. Take it to a local welding shop and forget about buying a welder for such a simple project.

Its probably worth it. I'm just trying to make you aware of what you're getting. Explorers and Rangers do not share the same shock tabs, so you'll have to deal with those as well as the spring perches.

Hard to tell from the ad pics but some years of explorers had the shock tabs built into the u-bolt retainer plates and not physically on the axle itself. In that case you'll have to buy shock tabs from someone like ballistic fab or make some yourself.

Also you can buy new clutches for that trac loc diff on ebay.
