So it's Fords fault that you can't take care of your vehicles, and they become pieces of crap?

Alright by the logic of this thread a lightning is just an f150 and and a cobra is just a mustang
That makes perfect sense... |

That makes perfect sense... No, a Cobra is worthless because you can just buy a regular GT and put a supercharger on it and its gonna be a million times better, faster and cheaper because Ford is just trying to rip you off. Just dont call Ford if something breaks. But its still better because you showed them! |

Cobra is IRS. Major change there. Raptor has some electronic gizmos that you don't need on the trail, shocks and more travel from basically the same suspension as a regular F150. I saw a Raptor today and the upper a arms are thin.
Makes perfect sense. Basically the same? Well sure that it has A arms but nothing else is the same. "look thin" is of course the all knowing way to judge a part too. Its not like the parts were tested prior to release or anything. Aftermarket parts would be lots better, because we all enjoy things like spindle flex. BTW, im sure you know already, but only the 99-04 Cobras were IRS. New ones arenty (yes, i still consider the GT500 a Cobra) |

Makes perfect sense. Wow, suspension change make the car different...right. I won't argue. You proved my point thanks! |

Even if you cheap out doing a long travel swap, you still wont get a vehicle as capable or as well put together as the Raptor. Definatly not for less than the difference in price between a comprable 4x4 F150.
Ask anyone here that has done a long travel swap even to their Ranger. Even ask anyone here thats done an SAS swap... if they could have gotten a factory long travel Ranger for lets say $5K over the price of an FX4 would they have done it? $5k for the package is a great deal and obviously its significant enough to make a difference in the manners of the truck. Your (heres that word again...) opinion that it's just another F150 is unfounded and frankly not true. Im sorry that Ford couldnt meet your expectations of what you consider a proper vehicle. Lord knows that a totally different suspension on an off road truck isnt good enough. Perhaps if they threw in an alcantara headliner it could persuade you? Or how about totally different body? I like how the TRD Tacomas have NOTHING in common with the 4 banger delivery truck models. Ignorance is bliss. A blower on a 2 or 3 valve engine (GT Engine) will not make it faster than a cobra. The fact is that once you start achieving 400-450rwhp on a GT is like pulling a pin on a grenade. The GT and the Cobra are not even in the same class. Buy a stock gt, to get it to the performance of a cobra, youll have to spend more than youd spend on a cobra to begin with. Not counting wheels/tires and appearance, because we all know how attractive the 05 and up mustangs are.
Read my other posts in this thread. inferred sarcasm is inferred. |

Even found the article. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=119331 http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=119426 The same Will Go for the raptor. With the raptor you will only every pay for the parts once. Not two sets of suspension components, tires, fenders, interior upgrades. etc. Not to mention resale when it comes time to trade in or sell private party. |

Yea IMO they are a bit pricey but I think it offer's a lot. I just don't like how the bumper and skid plate look, it needs a well built tube bumper and heavy duty skid plate. The grill looks awsome which sets it apart from the regular f150. I still want to go out and just test drive one to see how it drives. I'm waiting for the 6.2 though!
Heres a link: Ford Raptor Home Heres the videos: The 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor | The official site of the Ford F-150 | FordVehicles.com |
Honestly though, the 5.4 has enough power to do everything the raptor was origionally intended to do, it will do 100 mph in the desert, you don't need to do faster than that on sand, and I would be surprised if more than a very small handful of people ever ever hit that on sand with it...

Wow i already addressed that with a post on the same page! SARCASM!!! Read my other posts in this thread and you might understand the context in which that comment was made. I like the Raptor, i like the Cobra. To spell it out because 3 people so far have seriously misinterpreted the comment, It was made in mockery of other posts that claim that an aftermarket long travel kit will make a standard F150 superior to the Raptor and cheaper. I believe that to be false for many reasons i have already addressed. Namely cost, durability and numurous other reasons. A long travel kit on a 4x4 F150 will cost more than the price difference between an FX4 and a Raptor, yet the Raptor comes with the body work, its all PAINTED, its warrantied and everything is already installed. Along with wheels and tires and jeez, its a NEW TRUCK on top of that! Understand the context of a post before calling me out on it. |

Again no. I'm not much of a Toyota guy either. I like them more than other brands but that is as far as it goes. I will drive anything that looks good and runs well with no problems. Again you are useless. |

In conclusion, whippersnapper is a tool. He will never be close to owning a Raptor, or even a new F150, so his stance on the subject is as useless as our president. Go buy a new Camry. You'll be much happier and it will fit you better, being that you're a whiny little pantywaist.

Raptor is just an F150. Done. And I would drive a Camry. They are nice cars. At least I'm man enough to drive one. |
Lol this is great. I don't understand why you guys get so worked up over something so meaningless
