Just wondering. Im sure it does get weary. A nearly two month holiday or vacation would be awesome.

If it's anything like me, he's burned out. Being on this place as often as he was can take a toll on you.

I don't have his contact info so can't say how he's doing, but if he still checks in like I do from time to time, I'm sure he'll appreciate that he has been missed.

I enjoy this forum and I really enjoyed RonD's company. I like all moderators and admins here, as well, though. Everybody is really enjoyable and polite on this forum. Everyone here shows forum etiquette. Thank you.

I also noticed RonD "missing" months ago. I had DMed him about an issue I was having and when he didn't respond to it I thought maybe I had over tapped him for knowledge but then started noticing he wasn't commenting on any threads. That dude probably has more knowledge on Rangers then the rest of us combined and I've never been more jealous of someone in my entire life. I think it would be cool to write a biography about RonD and how he accrued such knowledge on Rangers and vehicles in general. I miss him and his insane detail he put into answering even the most basic of questions from someone. I hope he really is just taking a break and something hasn't happened to him. Hope we hear from you again soon RonD!!

That is what I'm afraid has happened as well. If so, what a wealth of knowledge that has passed off into eternity!

After a little detective work: I don't know if this is the same Ron D (Dean) that frequented these forums:
https://meaningfulmemorials.ca/tribu.../obituary.html
Sure hope not... but they had the same name, were both living in Vancouver BC, and the Ron Dean in the obituary passed away on May 19th, 2024.
While RonD last logged in to this forum on May 27th, that could easily have happened if someone turned on his computer and he had his browser set to log into this site, which would make sense as he was a power user and extremely active for so long.
I hope I'm wrong - if we really have lost him, the Ranger community has lost a real good & irreplaceable guy. If I'm right, I feel like all those he helped through the years should know. Perhaps a memorial post?
Maybe someone out there can confirm?

Amac

I also done a little detective work a couple wks ago. I found the same obituary. Wasn't sure if this was "our" guy or not. So I didn't post it.

I hope nothing has happened to Ron but he's been MIA for several months. It's definitely not looking good.

I believe someone has mentioned trying to reach out to him through a message. No response!

PMing here on the forum isn't the same as sending an email.

Man that guy had more knowledge on Rangers then probably all the rest of us combined. I always assumed he worked for Ford for a long time. Besides that though, I've never met (well still never "met" him) someone so willing to give their time, patience, knowledge, and general caring about fellow human beings as RonD as this site. He was always QUICK to answer anyone and everyone's post with a super thorough and useful response, even if I'd seen him answer the same exact thing in 4 other threads. He never referred you to another post, he just answered the question again. He will be truly missed whether he has passed away or not, he is clearly done with the forum. If he has passed away, I think the admins should reach out to the family and let them know how much he meant to all of us and all the help he has given people over the years. Might bring them some closure.

Well said my friend! Regardless of why, as with any that have "known" Ron, I would certainly like to know what has happened.

Hi everybody, mod here.

I checked out the birthday listed on Ron's account, and it does NOT match the birthdate from the obituary that was previously mentioned.

The listed email from his account does not appear to be a normal personal email address and may be a business address. This is why I have not reached out to him through this avenue as some companies are very strict on emails (mine sure is) and I would rather not risk getting him in trouble over a personal email as can happen with my line of work.

Keep up the searching and the well wishes as I'm sure he'll get a chuckle from the sleuthing and a smile knowing that we have all missed him greatly should he ever decide to log back on (if even possible).

Just now seeing this reply/response in this thread. I hope we are wrong! Has anyone checked arrest and summons?

None of my online accounts have my actual date of birth. Could be he does the same thing.
