so i got some money from my tax return... here's pics of my truck...











so my truck now has a 3" chasis drop, and 33x12.5's on 15x10" steelies

curious though, we ballanced the tires on a bubble ballancer, each tire needed about 6-8 oz of weight... and while driving it tonight, it was wobbly as hell, is it worth it to pay for someone to ballance them on a computer machine, or should i just toss a handful of sand in the tires? (works similar to dynabeads)

melted the **** out of it when i baked it apart... then i re-baked just the lens to try to push it back into shape, and it shrunk... so i go without, jy's up here have no ranger parts :( (sad panda)

 

by chassis drop do you mean body lift?

Nice tires. Those rims are ghey though.

 

Looks good, get them balanced better, one way or another. If they are shaky and wobbly they will wear poorly.

there's a red and blue stripe, but it's actually painted on, so it will be a little difficult to get off, i may just spray bomb it off eventually...

it's in my kitchen, STILL being painted DSG, i screwed up the paint, the first time i did it, and never got around to doing it again... the weather around here has been terrible, hard to paint, it's snowing right now...

thanks man, appreciated, that grey has been a pain in the ***, they screwed it up first time around, fought with them about re-doing it, then finally re-did it, it looks good now though...

i am going to, it's not driveable at highway speeds as it is, but should i try the sand, or just get them computer ballanced?

 

I balanced my 32s just fine with a computer balancer. See if they have an option called "forcematching" thats what I did it measures the out of round in the rim and tire and matches them up for a better ride. If you can't get that to work do the sand.

 

hmmm, that's a good idea... there shouldn't be any out of round though, both the rims and tires are BRAND NEW, but we will have to see... also what they charge for it...

 

even brand new wheels and tires have out of round. very little but its there.

One of my 35" KM2s has been a little rough from the get go. It shakes just a tiny bit at 45mph. I had the shop re-balance them and it is still there a little, but I rarely even feel it.
Personally I would take them to someone with a good balance machine, and stick weight inside of the wheels (not on the outside edge) and see what happens. If it still sucks, mark the position of the tire on the wheels, throw some beads in and mount the tires in the same spot. I wouldn't use sand myself, or anything that could clump with moisture.

talked to a few people, apparently BFG's use a lot of nylon in the tires, which flattens out very easily when sitting for a while... not sure when my tires were made, so they could have been sitting for a year, and have flat spots, and to drive on them for like 4-500 km and see if it settles down, if not, re-ballance them at that point

road force ballancing, is that like they put pressure on the tire, as if it were actually on the vehicle?
