windows freezing up

windows freezing up

alright, here's the problem.

for as long as i can remember, the side windows on the ranger have been freezing up. how do i fix it?

have you taken your door panels off and checked the felt grooves that the window sits in? sometimes they get damaged and wont let the window move up/down easily. next might be the actual motor/regulator needs to be replaced.

If your windows are freezing up, the first thing to try is to reboot. That'll help a lot.

I actually had this problem a few months ago... Twice. I'd get out of my work Ranger and into my personal Ranger. I'd push the window button to go down, but then it'd seem like none of the components were getting ANY power. I'd wait a few minutes, and everything would work again.

It's only happened twice on me (two days in a row), but never since. I wonder if it's a similar issue... but at the same time, IDGAF since it's working now (knock on wood).
