I'm going to be getting a safari bar in about a month. But I'm not to great with electrical systems. So I'm wondering on a scale of 1-10 how hard or easy is it? I don't wanna burn my truck if or short anything out like I did with the mustang dome light install. :?

 

Any good light wiring kit should have a fuse in it... so there should be no way to catch anything on fire :)

Good write up dave. Thats pretty much what I am going to do...
you might want to add suggestions for wire gauge based on amp draw.
And a couple other things.. and turn it into a full how-to.
I was thinking about putting my switch on the a-pillar though (down low)

i use hellas on my truck, excellent wiring instructions, but most of the time is spend putting the lights together and pre fabing the wiring.

 

if you buy hellas in a kit, they come with a pretty good prewired harness, the toughest thing will be getting the switch wires through the firewall, after that is pretty straight forward
