That is exactly how my mother was killed, she hit black ice driving a ford tempo and was hit by a tractor trailer carrying iron ore. she was killed instantly.

The drive of the SUV in the video was also killed instantly as well as his wife and a young child. The video has been circulating for a while now.

Schools around here have been showing it to their drivers ed students to show them how quickly things can go badly.

well I can add another truck that likes to not stay tire side down. This was my 2000 ranger. I hit black ice under an overpass, rear end came around and i went into the median sideways. The snow was deep and flipped the truck over. Went sledding for a bit on the roof til I hit the guard rail on the other side. If that rail wasn't there I'd have gone into oncoming traffic. Oh, my mom was riding shotgun too. No injuries.

You sure that was in Indiana, let alone America? Take a look at the first 18 wheeler that passes by. That looks like a European truck. Also, look at a couple of the cars that pass by. They look European as well. As far as the Freightliner that hit the car, European countries use American semi-trucks, but not vice versa. At the end when the woman in the car starts speaking, it sounds like she's speaking another language. Just an observation.

youtube description says it was in russia, there 4 people, and the largest piece found was a leg.

ford93 03-31-2012 01:10 AM

i also found one website that said it was in russia. i had a good friend say it was in indiana. more and more i look at it, it doenst look like indiana at all. either way it was a terrible crash

Kevan 03-31-2012 04:11 PM

my mother was getting her EMT refresher course and they had the class watch that... but its wonderious that the box truck kept control the entire time and didnt coase an accident himself

1996DangerRanger 03-31-2012 04:25 PM

That one with the big rig is probably the worst I've seen since the one where the Firebird plows into the guardrail, and flies into the overpass concrete support... incredibly, the guy that was in that accident actually survived.

Here's the video I'm talking about...

Drunk driver related accidents seem to be the worst.

Kevan 03-31-2012 04:47 PM

^ are you shure that wasnt a 69 charger painted orange...?

Yesh, it ain't wasn't no Charga'...:icon16:

I remember seeing that video featured on TV with the whole story behind it... guy crashed his Screaming Chicken into an overpass.

mthomp1 03-31-2012 06:40 PM

I think this was an S-10. Damn Kenworth came through like a brahma bull.

StxDangerRanger 03-31-2012 06:48 PM

Worst i've ever seen come off the hook was a Ranger that rolled a few times and wrapped around a tree.

The roof was totally flat, and the frame bent at the cab corner. poor guy that was driving had a broken arm and was in a neck splint.

nckcrdn 03-31-2012 06:49 PM

ow who hit who? I no rangers can fly but dam took out a plane, wow ! :261::smileeek:

nckcrdn 03-31-2012 07:00 PM

:atear: just saw the rest of the videos god go with the family's that horrific.

Kevan 04-02-2012 05:56 PM

^agreed, but some people just need to learn how to dive lol

Akuma 04-06-2012 03:35 AM

I have seen a few bad Ranger crash pics/vids worst this one.

The collision left the driver of the Blue Ford Ranger with moderate to severe injuries. The driver of the Oldsmobile was likely killed instantly.

1996DangerRanger 04-06-2012 09:03 AM

^^ Damn... someone was going too fast when that happened...

Not that often you see the cab completely ripped off of a pick-em-up truck frame.

I agree with you on the Olds driver... probably dead. That thing looks even worse off than the Ranger, in terms of how well the passenger compartment stayed together.
