over on another ranger enthusiast site (trs) a person made a post with some pics of his $300 (canadian) truck. thats cool, but he took a pic of his body lift that had about 5 or 6 hockey pucks stacked (and not straight either)
as his actual lift. what made me realize that trs has gone waaay downhill is the fact that all of the posts say: "great lift" or "cool home made lift" even: "the pucks are better than a real body lift, they'll last longer" wtf? if this idiot posted here on R-F, i bet he wouldn't get the same responses.

the mods and members at trs used to be all for safety, but now, i don't know.

I don't think that's a question that needs to be asked, honestly. I sure as hell wouldn't feel safe driving around with hockey pucks holding up my truck. I mean, I like hockey, but I also like my truck. And being alive.

 

yeah i must say it would somewhat scare me if i were riding around on 5 or 6 hockey pucks...wow...that guy would get torn apart for lack of safety here on r-f.

 

This is just an example as to why I don't frequent myself on there anymore. A hockey puck lift is a BAD idea. Might be okay for a mud (ONLY) truck but I would only ride in it if it had a roll cage welded to the frame. That would at least lessen the chance of the body shifting off the frame.

I don't understand the reason for bashing other sites, ORR actually just went through something like that about this site and now this site is doing it to TRS. TRS has some of the best information for the Ranger you will find anywhere, be glad their still around.

I don't go to TRS much but, I don't think anything is wrong with the site. The tech library doesn't have an equal.

Honestly I would go there more if the layout and colors were better.

I dont think its the website, but rather the members of that said site not being knowledgeable about lifting trucks and offroading.

lmao..there a hard rubber compound and they have been known to break..cheap lift YES..does it work YES..would i do it NO..loland i dont know how YOU couldnt get them straight..you gotta drill wholes in them like #$#% tape em together and drill straight.. i know a guy that did this to his old scool K series blazer..worked awsome and he still has it and they've never broke..but they are solid and they are pretty tuff..idunno..and cheap LOL..

and for the canadian part..meh....we do like our hockey! lol
