Your Mission Should...

you chose to accept it Is Find Me a 2001-2002 Bright Island Blue Ranger!

My roadmaster is being locked up till the motor swap happens and I hate the Explorer, so I have decided after X-mas to buy another ranger. My requirements are:

4.0 is a Must!
Fleetside bed (No Flareside)
in Good shape.

It is going to be my new daily Driver so I could care less about 4WD or not.

Remember Bright Island Blue, not Deep Wedgewood, Not Sonic Bright Island. If I didn't want this specific color I could buy one of the 1000 used rangers in the area. I have been searching for the last three dasy and the only one I found that matches my Requirements is in Iowa and he wants 16K for it! I'd get a Level II if I wanted to spend that kind of dough.

What car searchs have you used? Autotrader.com, cars.com, keepitlocal.com ?

That Ranger didn't happen to be from Cedar Rapids with a lift and 33's did it?

No it was stock at a dealer, I forget where, just know it was Iowa.

I checked Ebay, auto trader, car soupr Keep it local, all the biggy's. When I worked at Tousley Ford there were tons sold and four employess including me owned one, but I haven't seen one for sale in a long time.

That's exactly it, but Dang! 11K for a 90K mile truck! Are these people crazy?

haha i wasn't payin attention to the mileage. sorry. I'll keep looking in this area too.

Ranger #2

Little bit of something, my 1999 Ranger was totaled with 108K miles on it and when insurance guy estimated it's value it was $9,995. (In February of this year)

This morning there was Three of these on Autotrader, and the only two near enough to warrant a look they think they are made of gold! The other one is on the other side of wisconsin and is reasonable, but not cheap enough to warrant a drive.

LOL! Thought about it, Decided I didn't want to go that far for it. It is a great deal and I wish I could get it but no dice.

plus I don't want to spend much more than 10-12K I can find a ton a trucks that match my criteria except for one thing, They're Flaresides. I don't like flaresides.

I don't believe Bright Island Blue was available for the 2002 model year -- it was replaced with Sonic Blue or whatever that purple-blue color is called.

Nope it was a 2001-2002 option only. I have a buddy that has a 2002 Bright island blue truck.
