'02 Ranger with the shakes...

Hey all... sorry, I'm sure someone else has posted this, but I don't have time to run through all the forums.

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge (4.0 V6 Automatic transmission) with a problem. It feels like the transmission or the drive train is acting up between 35 to 55-60mph. The reason I say transmission is it feels like it has the biggest issues right around the speeds where it shifts gears.

When I hit those speeds, it "stutters" (for lack of a better phrase), and the whole truck shakes really violently.

Any thoughts as to what that might be?

Thanks!

Im not completely sure what the problem would be but the first thing i would do is check your universal joints, and maybe your tires could be severely out of balance as well...good luck

check your trans fluid, see if its full and clean. you might have burned up clutches causing it to shutter.

My truck will do something kinda like that when it shifts, but it's not violent.

I kinda thought it was normal, maybe I should investigate as well
