I just picked up an '08 4.0L 4WD Ranger with 37K on the clock. (I traded an '08 Edge for it.) I expected pretty dismal mileage. This past weekend I put about 300 miles on it: 200 highway - 100 around town. The mileage worked out to just about 23MPG. On the 200 mile leg the truck was loaded with furniture - we're moving.

The Edge got averaged about 18 -19 MPG on a similar trip.

If gas pedle is slow to respond. Take out the slack in the throttle line. Wakes it up. Gas mileage. If I wanted MPG I would of got a compact car without *****.
