1996 Ranger engine won't crank

1996 Ranger 2.3 litre 2WD.

When I roll the key over to start position, nothing happens. Battery is fine, engine will crank and start if I use a screwdriver across solenoid. I'm thinking either ignition switch or clutch safety switch. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Well, I replaced the clutch safety switch, still has no crank problem. It keeps blowing the number 24 fuse. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

#24 is for the Clutch Pedal Position Switch
