Is there a way to wire it to the dome-light delay?

id like that fob key idea, youd prob have to install some kind of switch to kill all power to your lights and then when you hit the unlock it powers up again... not a clue how, john might have some ideas

You could but your battery would be dead long before that 45 minute GEM shutdown.

I believe its 20min I've had it shut off on me way to many times to have it be 45m.

Maybe you could just use that magical thing called... the headlight switch!!!!

j/k man. I'm sure you could do it by adding some sort of switched relay that only let the lights come on when the ignition was on.

Not sure what the best way to attack that would be though.. My solutions can be..... "Creative"

I am not 100% sure about this but its an idea, tap into the headlight circuit after the headlight switch interrupting the flow off the switch and run that to a relay. power the control side of the relay with what ever turns the dome light off when you lock and doors.

If I did this I know I would have a habbit of always having my lights on for no reason, because the switch would be on when I turn locked the truck up and the next day when I went out the lights would be on. I guess it would stop you from leaving your lights on.

Tying this into the dome light circuit is probably not going to be nearly as easy as it sounds. The really easy way to do this is wire the headlight switch's power source so it only has power when the ignition is on.

I want to make my parking/fog lights turn on and stay on when i unlock my truck. Has it been done? Is that hard to do? Kind of like how the dome light turns on when you unlock it, can the parking lights do that same thing?
