2004 Ranger Passenger Side Power Window Switch

2004 Ranger

Power window switch on passenger side will only make the window go up - not down.

Driver side switch for the passenger side works fine - puts passenger side window up and down.

I took the switch out and put my meter on the 5 prongs and it seems to be working fine - Completes the circuit when pressing one way - then change my connections and circuit is completed when I press the switch the other way.

I tried jumping the wires while the switch's 5 prongs were plugged in but made a wrong connection. The window went down a few inches and then I blew a fuse.

What's wrong?

Is it the switch, the bottom part of the switch that is snapped on, a relay, or something else?

couple things- first. was the fuse fine before you ran jumper wire?
second thing you could try to check continuity to determine if its the plug that plugs into the switch. should be able to listen to relay for basically a clicking kind of noise. try those and let us know.

My driver's side lock/unlock button will only lock now and not unlock. Would this be the same thing?
