So, I'm trying to keep my Ranger alive. About to swap beds and have some frame welding done, but the mechanic just told me my rear drivers backing plate is almost gone. The problem is, you can't find them new, aftermarket, junkyard... anywhere. Are there compatible parts? Can I swap the entire unit from the plate out with anything? I'm scrambling.

I just posted similar a few hours ago. I see you’ve no responses to this post. I don’t suppose you’ve discovered a solution to this, have you?

I’m about to make a leap of faith (educated guess?) and order a set of plates with hopefully the needed mounting bolt pattern. Expecting to make accommodations for placement of abs sensor, parking brake cable, and for attachment of brake shoe pins, and making the appropriate cutout for the brake caliper mounting bracket, etc.

So far no luck... ANYWHERE. Are there other Ford models compatible out there? I'm not a mechanic, but I wonder if the entire set of hardware from the axle out can just be replaced.

So, I found a part-out of a 2010. I drove 4 hours away and had to buy the whole rear end, but I got the parts I needed. It's a pain, but it's the only option anymore.

 

I'm wondering if there's any way to have one fabricated. I can't believe you can't get it third party anywhere it's crazy!
