2011 ranger shift-lock fuse keeps blowing
I have a 2011 4.0 and about a year ago I got stuck in park and the stability control light was on. I quickly figured out that it was the 5A fuse in the passenger compartment #32. The description is "brake switch (logic)" I changed the fuse and it worked fine for a few months and it blew again. Then it started blowing every few weeks, then days, now it blows every time I drive my truck. It seems the only thing that the fuse effects is to shift-lock and the brake lights still work while the fuse is out. When ever I Google this problem "brake switch" is associated with the brake lights but this isn't the problem. I haven't found any forums with the same problem. I haven't been able to find any wires that seem to being shorting out but the only place I can think to look is under the steering wheel by the brake pedal. Has anyone else had/resolved this problem. If so where was the problem? Or any advice to where there might be a short

"This can be caused by a failed electrical component, bare wires touching the vehicles body (ground) or something as simple as a foil gum wrapper in the cigarette lighter socket. An incorrect fuse or to low of an amperage for the protected circuit can also be the cause."
Logical solutions to any fuse that keeps blowing
1. fuse is wrong size, you need to check your manual or online for the correct fuse size
2. somewhere there is a wire that is bare and is grounding,
Be sure and trace your wiring, its a pain but somewhere down the line something is wrong
