I own a 2000 ford ranger XLT with an automatic transmission.It does not shift into 4wd.When I am in drive or reverse and move the dash selector switch to 4wd high the dash light comes on ,that's it.When moving to 4wd low the light does not come on,still no 4wd.
However when the transmission is in neutral a loud clunking occurs when I move the dash switch and the dash indicator lights come on,but it does not shift into 4wd.
