So Im not much of a mechanic at ALL! Im trying to change my water pump, but I cant get the fan clutch off the pump. I borrowed the fan clutch tool from the parts store, but it doesn't seem to fit, but i may not be using it properly. it is my understanding that i am supposed to hold the four bolts on the front of the water pump pulley with one of the tools i borrowed, then break loose the hex nut that connects the two. I am aware that it is reverse threaded so i know im turning the correct way. it seems as if the pulley from the water pump sticks out over the four bolts so far i cannot get anything in there to hold the pulley still. Please help!!
