ABS Control Module

I have a 2000 4x4 Ranger.

I was having a problem with the ABS cutting in on declines or sharp turns. I had the two front ABS sensors replaced and that has fixed that problem, but the ABS light came on about a month later.

The shop said the new problem was the ABS Control Module. They can get the part for $900+. I found the part online, used for $75 but they won't put any used break system parts on vehicles for liability reasons.

I really don't want to spend $900+ dollars on a small box. Does anyone know where I can get the part new for much cheaper or have any other suggestions?

FWIW, these come up as the control module and the actuator but you'd need to verify the correct part name and application with the seller. Tasca is a good online Ford parts source but it worries me that they list the same module from 1996 through 2003. I am reasonably certain that the 2001~2003 4WABS Module is different from previous years.

Anyway, I'd give them a call and talk to a rep before ordering. 1-800-915-3141.

Even if you somehow needed both parts (doubtful), the combined price is still way less than $900.
