AC staying charged

Hey Everybody...

So i have a 2010 ranger 4.0 with 107k miles on it.. straight stock other than my mac daddy drop in K&N air filter. (15 HP gain i swear) on and i have my USMC sticker on the back (25+ HP , dyno tested).. ok no more jokes..

My AC compressor is staying charged when the truck is running and when the truck is off.
I noticed this the other day, my truck was dead, so i jumped it, drove it for 20 min then let it idle in the driveway for another 20min. after 20 min, i opened the hood and noticed the evaporator was frozen over. so i turned on the fan, in vent mode, and wow wee its blowing cold... but its in vent mode, not AC or MAX AC. once the ice was gone i turned the truck off. come back the next day and the truck was dead. jump it, drive to parts store for new battery and noticed that even in vent mode, its still blowing ICE cold AC. they give me a new battery, i drive home, park truck. next day, (today) truck is dead.

i grab the AC clutch. its locked tight. i cant spin it at all. i unplug the negative battery terminal, and it spins freely. plug the negative back up and it starts compressing again when i spin it, after a few turns, i cant spin the clutch anymore.

so i am positive that the AC is draining the battery. but how do i fix it?
i thought about unplugging the power to the AC compressor, but then i will have zero AC. ill unplug it this weekend to test i just don't have time to do it today.
