My airbag deployed a few months ago in a wreck I had and time has come to replace it. The truck is my 1997 xlt. I found some on ebay that was just the bag pretty reasonable but is there anything else I will need to replace? I know I am replacing the impact sensors to be on the safe side but I know some rangers have control modules that are year specfic but I dont know if mine is or not?

 

the crash sensors on the front will probably need to be replaced. i know you said you were replacing anyways. don't know if the "brain" needs to be replaced or not. put the new sensors on and the new bags in. if the light still flashes, read the code and see what it says.

 

Yea that is probably what I am going to end up doing. I just dont want it to blow up in my face when I hook the battery back up.
