Airbag sensors on 2008

I want to get some bucket seats and found a great deal on some explorer leather, fully electric seats.

The question I have is about the airbag sensor in the new rangers. I guess they sense if there is weight on the seat in order to activate the airbag on the passenger side. I am wondering if putting new seats in will mess this up. Is there any way to transfer the sensors to the new seats?

Any help would be great, Thanks!

see where the sensor is, maybe its just a pressure button under the seat, pull it off and mount it on the other seat and try it.

If you could figure out how to do it right the best thing I can think of is just have it always activated... as long as you never put a little one in the front seat (which honestly I don't think I would do even with the sensor) you should be fine... Since it doesn't void the warranty to ask I would probably still call...

well there is something under the pax seat that isnt on the drivers seat. its like flat piece of 3" x 3" plastic with 2 plugs coming out of it. i didnt really look that close, but i dont see how that can sense weight on the seat. thats the only difference between the 2 seats that i can see though.

Where are you Bob? lol

be great if you could get some 07+ Ford seats that would prolly work with our airbag system

I think the floor plan changed on the explorer and the seats got wider. I could be wrong but I thought only the 95-01 Explorer seats bolted into the Ranger's x-cab. The new ones I believe sit much higher too.

The problem is he would have to find Ranger 2007.5+ buckets and that will be hard until a few starting getting wrecked.
