does anyone kno what a 2006 4.0 4x4 alternator output capacity is ? i think its 130 amp. but im not sure..

 

yea i was recently told the output is something around 130 and the expos. put out around 140 or so

I'm pretty sure it's only like 90-95. That's what my stock one is atleast.

 

Yes, my 2003 4.0 Alternater was 95A also. The next year that I have any info on is 2007 and those were 110A for the 4-cylinders and 115A for the V6's. The only Ranger that I know of that came from the factory with a larger alternator was the Tremor - i think it had a 130A.

 

^ yeah they did that b/c of the "premium" edition sound package. Taking in that it was a factory stereo system, it is pretty nice. I wish it would have came in the 4.0 and 4X4.

Correction - I found the 2003 spec for the Tremor and it was 115A.

I am not running two 130 alternators but I am running a 200amp custom I had made out of a expo 130 that I got out of a "used parts yard" paid 25 for the alternator no warranty then had it rewired locally for 100. Test at 160 amps @ 2300rpm and 200 above 3400 rpm. Idle is around 110 so it keeps my system with the 3.5 fd cap. sounding great at all rpms. I am sure it would be more then enough to power a winch or what ever you are looking to power.

 

Why would you need that many amps?
I can understand if you have a HUGE sounds system. But if your truck is reletivly stock why worry about it

 

It isn't a huge sound system but it puts out 2100 watts at full volume and I have a winch and a few other electronic goodies I use regularly. My post was to give another option for a relatively inexpensive price.

Sure I am not the norm but the op is asking about two 130 amp alternator so he must have some need for a lot of power.
