Another Dual Battery Question

i read a few dual battery threads and they used Solenoids

my dads old boat had one of these on it..

i figured i could run another optima under the bed on the pass. side about where the stock muffler was.

would i just have to run the positive off the battery in the stock location to the switch, where ever i put it then to the second battery or do i want to run it on the ground side?

I'm not really worried about being stranded, its more out of convince and i'll be putting my winch back on soon. I want to be able to listen to the radio while I'm camping or hanging and not worry about weather it'll start when the time comes, or leave the lights on to do what ever.

Also, during winching, would i leave them both on? or just use one with the truck off then use the other to start it? I've seen a jeep winch someone then start their rig back up after wards with an optima. it was a hell of an operation, it took my 9,000 and his 12,000 to get this guy off the rock.

I have a yellow top now, i plan on using another yellow top optima.

I looked at that option but decided I would rather flip a switch. Not sure but I think hooked up to positive is fine. On my rig i'm dedicating my second battery for self recovery only, so I won't be hooking accesories up to the second battery.
