ya so when i was coming home today i tearned on the heat and ot smelled like antifreeze and it really stunk, so then when i went out tonight after i got in it smelled again, but on the way back it didnt stink anymore! so whats going on here?!? Thanks

so would that be covered by the dealer if it needs to be fixed? Should i take it up and have them look at it?

Did you use the wiper fluid? sometimes the smell can be sucked in (the vent is right below the windshield). I think its odd to be an 04 with a heater core leak but maybe you hit the lottery on that.

Or heater hose leak. Sometimes they don't seal around the heater core inlet and outlet too well where it passes through the firewall. The hoses make it spray at the firewall. Haven't seen it on a ranger ; but why should rangers be special?
