any other alternators work?

Hey padnas, been running a system in my ranger for awhile now and i just upgraded my sub and got to turn my amp up and of course the lights are dimming...had this problem in my 4runner forever ago but never did anything about it...anyways i wanna knock this out cuz i just bought this battery and dont wanna kill it...anyways im hittin up the junkyard tomorrow...can i pull and alt off an expedition or f150 or even a 4.0 rang that can possible do the jobfor me?

I think that only Ranger alternators will work on a Ranger. You can buy an aftermarket alternator with a higher output or have your rewound for a higher output.

what about one from a tremor? I would think they would be factory upgraded?

what style alt is on ur truck now? it is probably a 3G but it could also be a 4G. google 3G altnernators and read. u will find out which u can upgrade to. the 4G isnt so popular and isnt as easy to swap one to another.
